Visitation Survey
During the 2013 Texas legislative session, the Texas Legislature passed Budget Rider 61, which requires the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to conduct a survey of its visitation policies, for purposes of improving those policies.
The goal is for TDCJ’s visitation practices to become more child-friendly, and more likely to enhance communication and strengthen family bonds.
We at the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition strongly believe that a study of visitation policies cannot be done without the input of those who visit their loved ones. Therefore, we have created an ANONYMOUS survey to learn more about the people who visit, their visitation experiences, and any suggestions for improving the visitation experience. We will share our findings with TDCJ officials, who we hope will take our findings into consideration.
The survey is 47 questions and should take less than 30 minutes to complete. We are closing the survey on March 1, 2014.
